The Prodigy to headline Creamfields dance festival 2013

The Prodigy are confirmed as this year's headline act at the Creamfields music festival.

Also confirmed for the event are Madeon, Avicii and David Guetta.

BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra DJs, including Annie Mac, Zane Lowe, Mistajam and Toddla T, are also on the line-up.

Last year the site was flooded after heavy rain, forcing organisers to cancel the event on the Sunday, close the campsite and ask local police to help people leave the festival.

This year they say £500,000 has been spent on improvements to the site, including a new drainage system and better walkways, to make sure it does not happen again.

Anniversary year

Creamfields will also be celebrating its 15th anniversary this summer.

The Prodigy will be making their only UK appearance of 2013 at the dance festival.

Other artists at the revamped festival this year include Knife Party and Steve Angello on the Saturday night and Afrojack on the Sunday.

The event, which takes place in Danesbury, Cheshire, will run from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 August, with day tickets also available.

Early bird tickets for the event are on sale now. They will be available on general release from Friday 1 March at 10am.
