Jersey Shore cast to star in Sandy relief show on MTV
The cast of Jersey Shore are to star in a MTV fundraising programme to help rebuild after Hurricane Sandy.
Restore the Shore, a one-hour special, will ask for donations to repair the seafront at Seaside Heights and help people affected by the storm.
The stars of the reality show, which is in its final season, will be joined by other celebrities during the live show from New York on 15 November.
Last week's storm caused widespread damage in the New Jersey area.
Seaside Heights, the location for the MTV reality show, was badly affected with images of its mangled rollercoaster being shown around the world.
Streets were also flooded and homes destroyed after the hurricane hit the beach town.
Jersey Shores cast members, including Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, have been tweeting about the storm and asking for help.
Snooki posted: "#restoretheshore! @MTV, @archforhumanity and I are coming together to help re-build Seaside stronger than ever."
Money raised by the fundraising show will be co-ordinated by a group which also helped rebuild New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
The North American death toll after Sandy stands at more than 100.
