Jedward represent Ireland at Eurovision for second year



Jedward have been chosen to represent Ireland at this year's Eurovision song contest for the second year running.

The former X Factor contestants will sing the track Waterline on stage in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The twins, 20-year-olds John and Edward Grimes, will enter at the semi-final stage on 22 and 24 May with the final taking place on 26 May.

"WE DID IT! JEPIC LOVE TO EVERYONE MUCH LOVE JOHN AND EDWARD!" the twins said on Twitter after winning a TV vote.

"We are gonna do all we can to make our performance in Baku the coolest most jepic performance ever."

Jedward beat four acts in a public and regional jury vote on RTE's Late Late Show Eurosong Special at the weekend.

Last year Jedward finished in ninth place with 119 points at Düsseldorf's Esprit Arena in Germany.

UK entrants Blue came 11th last year with 100 points with Azerbaijan's Ell and Nikki topping the contest with 221 points.

This year's UK entrant has yet to be announced.
