Rick Ross: Lack of sleep caused flight seizures
Rapper Rick Ross has said his recent seizures were due to a lack of sleep.
Giving his first interview since the incident to US show 106 and Park, he said he hadn't slept for eight hours a night in five years and that doctors had told him to rest.
"I would get two hours of sleep and keep moving - me being a hustler," he said.
Ross, 35, had two seizures while flying to a gig on 14 October.
The boss of the Maybach Music Group said his previous lifestyle "has to stop" and that he was now taking time out with his family.
However, he also admitted he had recently worked on a Jay-Z collaboration against doctors' orders.
"It was a case of me not getting enough sleep, not getting enough rest," said Ross about the mid flight incidents.
The rapper's plane had to return to Florida last month after he became ill while travelling to a gig in Memphis.
After hospital treatment Ross boarded another flight, which then had to make an emergency landing after he had another seizure.
But he told BET show 106 and Park that tests for HIV, diabetes and cancer had shown he was "totally healthy".
"I'm just gonna make sure I get me some naps here and there. I'm gonna get my sleep in," said Ross.
The star's next album, God Forgives, I Don't, is due for release on 13 December.
