Sean Kingston in hospital after water sports accident
Hip hop star Sean Kingston is in hospital after a water sports accident in Miami Beach, Florida.
The incident happened at around 6pm on Sunday evening, according to his publicist Joseph Carozza.
A female passenger was also injured when his watercraft hit a bridge.
Kingston, 21, rose to fame with 2007 hit Beautiful Girls and has featured on songs by artists like Justin Bieber with his self-titled debut album selling more than a million copies.
"Sean Kingston is now stabilised and has moved from the trauma unit to ICU (intensive care unit)," said a statement from Epic Records.
"Sean's family thanks everyone for their prayers and support during this time."
Nicki Minaj and Rihanna have sent messages of support on Twitter.
Rapper Minaj said: "My love & prayers are with Sean Kingston & his family" while Rihanna wrote, "Sean we praying for u baby."
Justin Bieber also posted a message of support on the social networking site.
"Got my friend Sean Kingston in my prayers tonight," the teenage star tweeted on Monday.
"A true friend and big bro. Please keep him in your prayers tonight as well."
A number of hip hop musicians were in Miami Beach over the weekend for Urban Beach Week.
