Fenech-Soler singer Ben Duffy says he's battling cancer
British pop band Fenech-Soler have postponed their forthcoming UK tour after singer Ben Duffy revealed he has been diagnosed with testicular cancer.
He has described his diagnosis as a "big shock for all of us".
The singer added: "On the positive side it has been caught very early and the recovery rate for this type of cancer is extremely high."
The group, from Northamptonshire, have called off a nine-date tour which was set to begin on 22 March in Norwich.
"Everyone is very upbeat that I will be fighting fit again in a couple of months," he said in a statement on the band's website.
"We just want to ask our fans to bear with us while I have treatment and recover."
The foursome, who released their debut album in September 2010, are to donate the proceeds from their new single Stop And Stare released on 18 April to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
