X Factor's Matt Cardle leads race for Xmas number one
X Factor's Matt Cardle is on course to secure this year's UK Christmas number one single with the track When We Collide.
Data confirmed by the official charts company, reveals that Cardle's track has sold 112,000 copies in its first 24 hours.
That's more than twice as many as Rihanna's What's My Name in second.
Highest of the songs with 'campaigns' designed to challenge X Factor, The Trashmen's Surfin' Bird is third.
The original version of Biffy Clyro's Many Of Horror, the track Matt Cardle has rerecorded and renamed, is currently at number nine.
Rage Against The Machine's 4'33" silent track recorded by the likes of Mr Hudson, The Kooks and Suggs is in the top 20 at number 19.
The sales figures are taken from the first 24 hours of this week's sales.
The Christmas number 1 single will be revealed on the official chart show with Reggie Yates on BBC Radio 1 on Sunday 19 December.
