Pixie Lott announces cat theme for first solo UK tour
Pixie Lott has begun her first headline tour of the UK and says she's excited to finally be doing her own shows.
The 19-year-old singer, who released her debut album Turn It Up last year, has only ever supported other artists like Rihanna and The Saturdays.
"I've been rehearsing and I can't wait," she said. "I'm just feeling that I have to make sure I enjoy myself.
"It's my favourite thing going on tour and to have my own tour, I've been waiting so long."
Pixie Lott started her Crazycats Tour in Carlisle last night (23 November) and will perform 19 gigs in cities including Nottingham, Cardiff, Portsmouth and London ending in Manchester on 18 December.
The teen singer explained the theme.
"It has a crazycat theme because the tour is called the Crazycat tour," she said.
"So we've got lots of cat costumes. I've got my dancers, so I'll be dancing for the audience. We've got special things falling from the ceiling."
The Essex singer's first two singles, Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh) and Boys and Girls, went to number one in the singles chart and she's had seven top 20 hits.
She's started her film career with an upcoming role in Fred: The Movie and also has a fashion line at Lipsy.
In September, she told Newsbeat she liked to keep busy.
"I always like to keep myself busy. I do like to juggle quite a few things at the same time but music is definitely my focus and my passion.
"It's what I've always wanted to do. I wouldn't be able to live without that. I would never be tempted away from it."
