John Barrowman says part of Torchwood will be shot in US
John Barrowman says he's "very excited" about filming part of the next series of Torchwood in Los Angeles.
He told Chris Moyles: "I'm going to be moving to Los Angeles for six months of the year from January.
"We're filming in Wales and Los Angeles as it's a co-production now with the BBC and the Starz Network. I'm very excited."
The 10-episode instalment will be written by a team led by Torchwood creator, Russell T Davies.
He added: "It'll be worked out where we're doing the chunk of filming in the Cardiff area prior to going out and then we'll film our chunk in Los Angeles."
Strictly Christmas special
The actor and singer admitted that negotiations for the sci-fi show to become a co-production have been going on for a while.
The third series of Torchwood, Children of Earth, was screened last year on consecutive nights.
Barrowman said: "It did really well. At the end I went up into space and left everybody."
The actor has just filmed a role in Desperate Housewives but he revealed he has had to say no to appearing in Glee because he "can't fit it in".
Before heading to LA Barrowman revealed he had also signed up for the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special.
He said: "It's going to be fun. We record it quite soon.
"I'm doing a dance that I would never ever have done. I can't say what. It's going to be a surprise."
And he's looking forward to going over the top with his costumes.
"There are going to be more sparkles all over me than the entire series of the show."
