Lehabo Afrika: Too much pressure to be born free

13 December 2013 Last updated at 08:01 GMT

Lehabo Afrika says she does not feel she has true freedom in South Africa, despite Nelson Mandela's legacy.

The 20-year-old says there is too much "pressure" to live up to the term "born free" and she doesn't feel she has true economic or political freedom.

Born just after the end of apartheid, she feels South Africa still has a way to go before Mandela's vision is fully realised.

She was speaking to Newsbeat reporter Nomia Iqbal, in Johannesburg.
