Lil' Kim apologises after her Lovebox show is cancelled
Lil' Kim has apologised to UK fans after her performance at Lovebox was cancelled.
Festival organisers said they "had no other option" but to cancel Lil' Kim's appearance at London's Victoria Park after she arrived late.
In an official statement they said had to "ensure the other main stage acts were not disrupted."
The rapper tweeted: "Things that happened were out of my control" after missing the show on Sunday.
The Lighters Up singer had tweeted before her scheduled slot: "#Lovebox today!!!!!!! London!!!!!!!
Lil' Kim's publicist Lizzie Grubman insists she wasn't late for the show.
In a statement on twitter she said: "Kim was on-site and on time for her performance and apologises to all of her fans for the inconvenience."
An announcement was made 10 minutes after the 39-year-old was due to go on stage. Fans at the festival said they were upset by the cancellation.
Alex said: "I've been crying the whole day. I'm her number one fan.
"She's the most anticipated artist this weekend. Everyone is so disappointed, it's a massive shame."
Lil' Kim, whose real name is Kimberly Denise Jones, says she now plans to meet fans at her London hotel to make up for not performing.
In a message posted on Twitter she said: "Today [Sunday] was a very long day."
"I love my UK fans. I want to do a big meet n' greet".
The show was set to be the 39-year-old's only UK festival appearance this year.
Other acts including Azealia Banks, Disclosure and John Newman appeared at the festival across the weekend.
