Justin Timberlake is to release a second new album in September, months after his comeback record The 20/20 Experience made it to number one in the UK and the US charts.

The singer will release 10 new songs and out-takes on 30 September, his record label RCA said.

The star will also start an international solo tour in October, his first in six years.

The 20/20 Experience was Timberlake's first album in seven years.

It topped the US album charts for three consecutive weeks.

The North American leg of Timberlake's tour will begin on 31 October in Montreal and finish in February in Omaha, Nebraska.

It will follow a summer stadium tour in America with rapper Jay-Z.

The pair will also headline this year's Wireless festival in London.

Justin Timberlake, 32, will perform mostly in mid-sized North American cities, such as St. Louis, Indianapolis and Edmonton, that his Legends of the Summer tour with Jay-Z does not cover.

Live Nation has yet to announce the UK, European, Australian and South American tour dates.

The release of The 20/20 Experience was the first new music from Timberlake since 2006.

The former N'Sync star spent several years focusing on his film career, launching his own record label and marrying actress Jessica Biel.
