There's a change to the definition of domestic abuse coming in this month in England and Wales.

For the first time - it'll apply to 16 and 17 year olds - and its being extended to include emotional abuse like intimidation and controlling behaviour.

Newsbeat's been to Liverpool to get reaction from Thomas Ryan and Chelsea Waugh, whose friend Kelsey Shaw was murdered by her boyfriend at 17.

They're now going into schools to spread the message about relationship abuse.
