Bradley Cooper's got another trophy for his ever growing collection as he was named best actor at the Elle Style Awards 2013.

The awards were hosted by BBC Radio 1's breakfast presenter, Nick Grimshaw.

Other winners included Emeli Sande for best music act, although the singer was not at the London ceremony to collect her trophy.

Kick-Ass star Chloe Moretz had just flown in to the UK in time to collect her next future icon prize.

Moretz said filming was completed on Kick-Ass 2, revealing the sequel was "a bit more romantic" and that there's more self-torment for her character, Hit Girl.

She also added how much she loved Downton Abbey and that her love of the ITV drama was making being in the UK even more exciting for her.

Les Miserables star Samantha Barks won the breakthrough performance trophy, while Game of Thrones was named best TV show.

Kate Hudson on her favourite British television shows

Television was on Kate Hudson's mind, as the actress is becoming used to British life, living in the UK with her boyfriend Matt Bellamy from Muse.

Hudson presented Stella McCartney with Elle's best international designer award but spoke on the red carpet about who rules the TV remote in her household.

"In our house it's a lot of BBC," she admitted; "It's a lot Top Gear, I've got boys."

"We were watching it last night and I love them but I thought 'I can't watch this again!'"

Much of Bellamy's song writing has revealed his passion for exploring the wonders of the universe, as detailed on Muse albums such as 2006's Black Holes and Revelations, and seems Hudson has a similar interest.

"[We watch] Brian Cox, the scientist and he's incredible."

"I find him just so inspiring the way he sees the planet and how he teaches you about how things work and function."

Other celebrities keen to be seen at the Elle Style Awards included Pixie and Peaches Geldolf, Alice Eve, Juno Temple, Laura Mvula and Dermot O'Leary.
