The Voice UK winner Leanne Mitchell says she has no regrets after appearing on the show.
She says she has been "locked in a studio writing her first album" and plans to release her second single.
The 29-year-old also revealed the title of the song as If You Knew and said she had written it herself.
She told Newsbeat that she didn't take any notice of the criticism that surrounded the show and it's dropping viewing figures.
Episodes of The Voice consistently attracted average audiences of more than 10m in April, but the ratings had dropped to 4.5m by the last week.
"The X Factor got criticised for things like that as well. All of the programmes do. It's not something that I would worry about at all."
After winning the show, Leanne released her first single, a cover of Whitney Houston's Run to You, which debuted in at number 45 according to the Official Charts Company.
But the singer, who was speaking at the National Television Awards, says she was not disappointed with it.
"To be honest, I think because it's on the BBC I think it's very difficult to get as much exposure as maybe you would on other programmes.
"It hasn't bothered me, but the main thing I wanted to work on is my album. So hopefully people will get to hear that very soon."
