Birmingham singer Laura Mvula says she suffers from "horrible" stage-fright before her gigs.
The star played only her "tenth or eleventh" show recently as part of BBC Radio 1's Future Festival.
Mvula told Newsbeat: "I want to die. Basically. I can't put it any more dramatically than that. Just for me - it's a horrible feeling."
"If you've had experiences when you were younger that have traumatised you when it comes to performing. I was one of those kids who had one of those moments.
"It all started well and ended in tears in a very public way."
She was speaking to Newsbeat's music reporter Greg Cochrane.
