So Solid Crew: Romeo, Lisa Maffia and Megaman

UK garage outfit So Solid Crew will regroup for a gig in London, the band have confirmed.

The south London outfit, who scored a number one single in 2001 with their track 21 Seconds, will play IndigO2 on 21 March.

A message on the venue's website said fans could see them on stage for "the first time in over 10 years".

It said original members including Lisa Maffia, Oxide & Neutrino and Asher D would appear.

Controversies

Following their chart success the group's career was marred by a number of controversies.

Band member Asher D was sent to prison in 2002 after being caught with a loaded gun. He's since enjoyed success with acting, appearing in Channel 4's Top Boy and Doctor Who.

Another member, Carl Morgan, was jailed for murder in 2005. Founding member Megaman spent a year and a half fighting allegations that he'd supported Morgan, but was cleared in 2006.

Having dropped the 'crew' from their name they launched a comeback three years ago when they released a new single - Since You Went Away.

"A few of the members did get caught up on the wrong side of the law, and So Solid was tarnished for it," Megaman admitted during an interview with the BBC in January 2010.

Tweeting about the announcement MC Harvey wrote: "Time to show these young bucks out there what a real stage performance is."

Tickets for the London show go on general sale on Friday 18 January.
