Paloma Faith has announced that she will be performing at seven gigs in forests around England.

The events are part of the Forest Live series, organised by the Forestry Commission to bring music to new audiences without commercial branding or sponsorship.

"I'm really excited about these shows," said the singer.

"It's going to be a great experience so I hope you will be able to join me on my woodland adventure this summer."

Her first concert will be on Friday 14 June in Thetford Forest, near Brandon in Suffolk.

The tour will then take in woodland venues including Sherwood Pines Forest in Nottinghamshire and Delamere Forest in Cheshire.

Paloma Faith has just been nominated for two Brit Awards; best British female solo artist and the prestigious best British album for Fall to Grace.

She is competing with albums from Emeli Sande, Plan B, Alt-J and Mumford & Sons.

"I am delighted to have been nominated for these Brit awards.

"I don't expect to win, but it's so wonderful to be acknowledged for contributing something to British music.

"I am very proud to be British and so happy to do something I love."

Tickets for the Paloma Faith Forest Live series go on sale on Friday 19 January at 9am and can be purchased from the Forestry Commission box office.

The Script, Blondie and Paul Weller have already confirmed forest gig dates for 2013.
