Robert Duvall has revealed that the offer of a large salary by Tom Cruise tempted him into taking a part in new movie Jack Reacher.
The film follows ex-military policeman Jack Reacher as he investigates a sniper shooting and is based on the bestselling series of books by author Lee Child.
The actor was speaking to Newsbeat's entertainment reporter Natalie Jamieson.
Jack Reacher is released in the UK on 26 December.
