Milton Keynes Dons got an injury time winner on Sunday (2 December) to knock rivals AFC Wimbledon out of the FA Cup.

It was the first meeting between the teams since AFC was formed by Wimbledon FC fans, furious that their club was being uprooted to Milton Keynes.

That happened 10 years ago, when the FA gave Wimbledon FC permission to move 60 miles up the M1 to Milton Keynes.

The decision left behind one furious set of fans, whilst also attracting a whole new set of Dons supporters.

"I've been a Wimbledon fan since I was four years old, I'm 25 now.

"We've had some great times, reaching the FA Cup semi-finals and winning the cup in 1988.

"We watched our club move ground to Selhurst Park and all the fans stuck that out, but then in 2002 out of nowhere, it was moved to Milton Keynes.

"So to get to play against the club that essentially stole our club from us is massive.

"As for who should have the name 'Dons', the heritage of our club is in Wimbledon.

"MK Dons always say they're a young and new club, so surely they want to drop the Dons name to further establish themselves as a club in their own right? AFC see no affinity to Milton Keynes and it should be the same both ways.

"Wimbledon fans won't forget, but it's the decent thing for MK Dons to do regardless, so both clubs can move forward."

James Fowler, 24, MK Dons fan

James Fowler

"I've been a MK Dons fan ever since the club moved up here.

"There will always be heated exchanges between the fans, but it's been ten years, it's time for everyone to move on. It's got to the point now where it's starting to get repetitive.

"It was a tight game, closer maybe than we expected and that's definitely the right time to end it.

"There's always going to be hurt on both sides, but MK Dons are a new up and coming club, and AFC are doing well too. But we won't drop the Dons, all the fans want to keep it.

"It's a part of our history that Wimbledon FC existed. Today's about showing what we're all about, and making people realise that we don't deserve the stick some people give us."
