Alicia Keys announces Girl on Fire UK tour for 2013

Alicia Keys has announced that she will visit six English cities for her Girls on Fire tour in 2013.

The R&B singer plans to go to Newcastle, Nottingham and Manchester as part of her May tour.

The dates will support her new album of the same name, which will be released on 26 November.

"I'm in love with this album. It is full of new beginnings, new perspectives and fresh starts," says Keys.

"I'm so excited to be touring again and it's great to be back in the UK.

  • Sunday 19 May - Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle
  • Friday 24 May - Manchester Arena
  • Saturday 25 May - NIA Arena, Birmingham
  • Tuesday 28 May - Nottingham Capital FM Arena
  • Thursday 30 May - The O2, London

"I love it here and I'm looking forward to performing and feeling the energy of the crowd - there's nothing like it.

"I plan to bring you something emotional and exciting. I'm a brand new me."

Her latest single, also called Girl on Fire, features a guest vocal from Nicki Minaj

The new album also includes collaborations with artists including Emeli Sande, Jamie XX and Frank Ocean.

The last month has seen Alicia Keys perform in Frankfurt at the MTV EMAs, on The X Factor and as part of BBC Radio 1Xtra's Live tour.

Tickets for the tour go on sale at 9am on Friday 23 November.
