TV bosses in America say there will be a third series of The X Factor USA.
Simon Cowell made the announcement on Twitter on Monday (22 October).
He said: "I wanted you guys to be the first to know that Fox have confirmed that The X Factor USA will be back next year for its third season.
"I want to personally thank each and every one of you, it is hugely appreciated and never forgotten." Judges on the show are Demi Lovato, L.A. Reid and Britney Spears.
The second series of the programme, which is shown on ITV2, has suffered from lower viewing figures.
In the UK ratings are down on recent years.
For the second week running BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing had a million more viewers.
Simon Cowell left the UK version of the show after the 2010 series to launch the US programme, with Gary Barlow taking on the UK role as head judge.
