Bruno Mars says he has completed work on his second album.

The US singer tweeted: "Over a year workin' on it and now I'm finally finished."

A title or release date for the album has yet to be confirmed.

It'll be the follow-up to Doo-Wops & Hooligans which became the third highest selling album of 2011 in the UK.

It sold more than 1.2 million copies.

His debut album included hits such as Just The Way You Are, The Lazy Song and Marry You.

Mars is also part of song writing team The Smeezingtons, the trio of musicians behind tracks like Cee Lo Green's Forget You.

They also co-wrote his track Grenade which sold 852,000 copies in 2011.
