According to a new report about digital music, Ed Sheeran's debut album + was the most downloaded album on BitTorrent sites in the first half of 2012.

Speaking to Newsbeat during the summer festival season the singer said he thinks he's found a "decent balance" between people downloading his music for free and selling albums.

He said: "There's a decent balance between - you can live off your sales and you can allow people to illegally download it and come to your gigs. My gig tickets are £18 and my album is £8, so it's all relative."

He was speaking to Newsbeat's Natalie Jamieson.

Although Ed Sheeran tops list with the most illegally downloaded album, different artists are popular in different parts of the UK.
