The Killers Brandon Flowers says their new album was written with live shows in mind

The Killers have announced their first UK tour in four years.

Starting on 26 October at Glasgow's SECC, they will play 13 arena dates finishing up with two shows at London's O2 in November.

The Las Vegas band's fourth studio album, Battle Born, is released on 17 September and a new single, Runaways, is out a week before.

Last month The Killers also revealed a special gig for Radio 1 on 10 September at The Forum in London.

The show will be broadcast live on Radio 1 on the night of the gig.

The Killers' last album, Day & Age, came out in November 2008 and singer Brandon Flowers recently told Zane Lowe that the new record had been written with live shows in mind.

"That was in our heads more than it has ever been," said Flowers.

"You always hear about bands like U2 thinking about that while they're in the studio, so, if it worked for them we'll give it a shot."
