MTV reality TV show Jersey Shore is to end after the next series, which starts in America on 4 October.
The programme had its US debut in December 2009 and launched the careers of Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino.
It launched in the UK in March 2010 and drew an average of eight million viewers in 2011 in America.
No reason has been given about why it is ending, although ratings have been falling and cast salaries rising.
The series, which is mostly filmed at a house in Seaside Heights in the US state of New Jersey, has also seen the cast travel to Miami and Italy.
It made phrases like "gym, tan, laundry" popular in America.
Partying waysThe show has had its critics with some people in New Jersey complaining they had been stereotyped.
Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is on this year's Celebrity Big Brother
Two years ago, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie called it "negative for New Jersey", telling a TV interviewer the show "takes a bunch of New Yorkers, drops them at the Jersey Shore and tries to make America feel like this is New Jersey".
Most of the cast members are from New York.
One of the main characters, Snooki, announced that she was pregnant on the show in March putting a stop to her partying ways.
The 24-year-old gave birth to a boy last week.
Meanwhile, Mike Sorrentino is appearing in this year's version of Celebrity Big Brother and fellow cast member Pauly D is now one of the top-earning music DJs in the world.
US fans of Jersey Shore will be able see footage from the final season next Thursday (6 September), ahead of MTV's annual Video Music Awards.
