Melanie Sykes met Jack Cockings four months ago after chatting on Twitter
TV presenter Melanie Sykes says she is "giddy" after announcing her engagement to boyfriend Jack Cockings after meeting him four months ago.
The star first met her 26-year-old fiance when he tweeted to ask her out.
The former model, 42, announced her engagement on Twitter: "Just want to let you know that me &Jack @bespokespartan are engaged to be married and we are very giddy xxxx"
The couple met online in April.
They quickly made headlines with their public and graphic flirtation, openly tweeting messages to each other before going on a date.
Melanie Sykes, who first became famous after appearing in a beer advert, has appeared on The Big Breakfast and Today With Des And Mel and had a presenting stint on Radio 2 with Alan Carr.
Her boyfriend Jack Cockings was born in Dorset and runs his own roofing company.
Melanie Sykes has two children from her marriage to Italian actor Daniel Caltagirone, which ended in 2009.
