Former X Factor contestant Aiden Grimshaw says he's "nervous but excited" ahead of the release of his debut album.

The 20-year-old, who finished 10th in 2010 on the reality show, said he wanted to make a "solid, consistent album" that he could play to his dad and be proud of.

The first single off Misty Eye is called Curtain Call, which Aiden Grimshaw describes as a love letter "that wouldn't be out of place in a cheesey romcom".

The singer has been talking to Newsbeat music reporter Greg Cochrane.
