BBC Radio 1 is preparing to host the biggest live event in the network's history this weekend (23 and 24 June).

Hackney Weekend will see artists like Jay-Z and Rihanna headline a free music event for 100,000 ticket-holders.

The site, at Hackney Marshes in east London, has taken two weeks to build. More than 100 artists play across six stages.

Newsbeat's music reporter Greg Cochrane went behind the scenes to see how it's come together and spoke to Melvin Benn from Festival Republic who has helped organise the event.

Coverage of Hackney Weekend will be on BBC Three, BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1Xtra and online
