Axl Rose Guns N' Roses recently completed a UK arena tour

Guns N' Roses singer Axl Rose has been robbed of jewellery worth $200,000 (£130,000) at a private party in Paris, French police have confirmed.

The front man had three gold and diamond necklaces taken at an event held the evening after his band played a concert at the city's Bercy arena.

A police spokesperson said the singer was "fuming" and that an investigation had been opened.

It is not believed Rose was wearing the jewellery at the time of the theft.

The band recently completed a short UK tour, performing shows in Nottingham, Liverpool, Newcastle, Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester and London.

Their next gig is scheduled to be in Monchengladbach, Germany, on Friday 8 June.

In April Rose declined his entry into the Cleveland Rock and Roll Hall of Fame saying that he didn't feel wanted or respected.

Former band members including Slash, Steven Adler, Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum did turn up and Guns N' Roses were inducted.
