The producer of The Fades has said she's delighted to have won a Bafta but admitted there were many more ideas for the cancelled show.

The BBC Three fantasy horror won best drama series at the Bafta TV awards.

Accepting the prize, Caroline Skinner said: "Obviously we would have loved to have had several more series, and we got ideas for at least another two while we were making it."

It was revealed last month that despite its success the show was being axed.

The show had proved popular with viewers and had pulled in good reviews from critics.

Producer Caroline Skinner told the Bafta audience: "We were nominated for an RTS award for best series, we just won this, it just feels like a total delight that the industry and also the fans really took the show to their hearts.

"Nothing feels bittersweet right now," she added.

Created by Skins writer Jack Thorne, six episodes of The Fades were made, airing from September to October last year.

The plot revolved around 17-year-old Paul Roberts who had a special power meaning he could see the Fades, vengeful spirits barred from heaven.
