Tim Westwood is to leave his drive time show on BBC Radio 1Xtra in a shake-up to the network's day-time presenting line-up.

A new weekday 4-7pm show will be presented by DJ Charlie Sloth.

Westwood will stay with the station but present a new weekend programme every Sunday from 7-9pm.

He will continue to present his BBC Radio 1Xtra and Radio 1 show on Saturday nights.

In a statement Westwood said his run presenting the weekday afternoon show had been "a lot of fun and a great experience".

Sloth said: "I'm very excited about being given the opportunity to speak to the nation for five days a week and for the faith put in me by the Radio 1Xtra team."
