Stars walk the red carpet at the British Soap Awards

EastEnders has won the top prize at the British Soap Awards after being named best British soap. The BBC One show claimed seven awards in total, the same number as ITV1 rival Coronation Street.

Newsbeat caught up with several of the actors on the red carpet before the ceremony.

Coronation Street's Michelle Keegan spoke about being nominated in the sexiest female category while EastEnders' Ricky Norwood was hoping that his co-star Jacqueline Jossa (Lauren Branning) would win the award.
