Example, Ben Howard join Radio 1's Hackney Weekend

Example Example will play BBC Radio 1's Hackney Weekend in June

Example, Ben Howard and Lostprophets have joined the line-up for BBC Radio 1's Hackney Weekend.

US rapper B.o.B, dance artist Madeon and singer Santigold will also perform at the event.

Gyptian, Sway, Delilah, Lethal Bizzle and Enter Shikari have also been added to the bill.

Jay-Z will headline the event takes place at London's Hackney Marshes on 23 and 24 June with will.i.am and Florence And The Machine also appearing.

Other acts performing at the event include Jack White, Ed Sheeran, Jessie J, Leona Lewis and Lana Del Rey.

Another headliner for the second night on 24 June will be announced over the coming weeks.

Ticket registration is open until 11pm on Monday 19 March.

To apply people will need to go to the Radio 1 website, where they will first be asked to enter their details and upload a photo.

Those who register will then be able to apply for up to two tickets online or by phone on the 25 and 26 March.

Tickets for the event are free but there will be a small handling fee.

The majority of the tickets are being allocated to people living in Hackney and the surrounding boroughs.

Other acts performing on 23 and 24 June include Swedish House Mafia, Emeli Sande, Calvin Harris, Nero, David Guetta, Deadmau5, The Maccabees, The Ting Tings, Dappy, Chase & Status, Professor Green, Michael Kiwanuka, Labrinth, Tinie Tempah and Plan B.

Sean Paul, Tinchy Stryder, Flo Rida, Devlin and Azealia Banks will perform on a separate BBC 1Xtra stage.

One hundred thousand tickets are available across the weekend, which is part of the London 2012 Festival.

It will feature more than 100 UK and international artists performing on six BBC stages including the Radio 1 main stage, Radio 1Xtra stage, dance stage, In New Music We Trust stage and the BBC Introducing stage.

BBC Three will also screen the event.
