One Direction, Pixie Lott and Jason Derulo were among those who performed.

Speaking to Newsbeat he said: "It's an honour to win an award like this because it shows all the hard work that you put in, whether in the pool or the gym, it pays off."
The Inbetweeners won best British TV show. Its four main actors, Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, Blake Harrison and James Buckley accepted the award.

As well as the celebrity categories, three teenagers also took home Teen Hero awards.
They were nominated by Radio 1 listeners as people who have done inspirational things.
Sixteen-year-old Charlie Ward was given an award after saving a six-year-old girl from drowning.

"These awards are special because it gives people recognition for the great things they do."
