Forbes releases list of top 10 best paid TV actresses

Eva Longoria from Desperate Housewives and 30 Rock actress Tina Fey top a list of the 10 highest paid TV actresses in America.
Eva Longoria, 36, and Tina Fey, 41, top a Forbes magazine list of the highest paid TV actresses in America. The Desperate Housewives star and 30 Rock actress earned $13 million (£8.3m) between May 2010 and May 2011.
Eva Longoria's Desperate Housewives co-star Marcia Cross, 49, comes joint third in the list having earned $10 million (£6.3m). The final series of the show, its eighth, started in the US this month. There's no official UK transmission date.
Forty-seven-year-old Mariska Hargitay from Law & Order: Special Victims Unit made $10 million (£6.3m) between May 2010 and May 2011. The show is watched in the US by an average of 53 million viewers every week.
Marg Helgenberger, 52, also made $10 million (£6.3m). She's the main actress in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and also appears in China Beach. CSI is now in its 11th season with Ted Danson taking over from Laurence Fishburne.
Teri Hatcher made $9 million (£5.7m) last year. She is estimated to make around $375,000 (£240,000) per episode from Desperate Housewives. The 46-year-old won a Golden Globe in 2005 for her role in the show.
The fifth and final Desperate Housewives star, Felicity Huffman, ties with co-star Teri Hatcher on the top 10 list. The 48-year-old also made $9 million (£5.7m) last year. She was nominated for an Oscar for her part in Transamerica in 2005.
Former Friends actress Courteney Cox made $7 million (£4.4m) in the year to May. The 47-year-old has appeared in films like the Scream franchise and more recently has taken the lead roles in TV shows such as Dirt and Cougar Town.
Forty-one-year-old Ellen Pompeo, who rose to fame playing Meredith Grey in Grey's Anatomy, made the same as Courteney Cox. The show, shown on Sky Living in the UK, is now in its eighth season.
Julianna Margulies finishes in 10th place in the Forbes list on $6 million (£3.8m). The 45-year-old won an Emmy for her part in ER in 1995 and followed that up earlier this year with a best actress Emmy for her part in The Good Wife.
