Blogger cautioned over Britain's Got Talent claims
A 52-year-old man has been cautioned by police after writing a blog which made false claims about Britain's Got Talent.
The anonymous blogger claimed that 12-year-old Ronan Parke, who made it to the final, was groomed for the show.
Claiming to work for Sony Music UK, he said Parke had been known to Simon Cowell's production company Syco for two years and had a management deal.
Parke and Cowell denied the claims before the producer called in police.
Scotland Yard said the man had been cautioned under the Malicious Communications Act and there would be no further police action.
A spokesman for Sony Music said: "A man has now admitted responsibility for the wholly untrue blogs relating to Ronan Parke and the false allegations against Britain's Got Talent, Sony Music and Syco.
"He has admitted he has absolutely no connection with Ronan Parke, Sony Music, Syco, or Britain's Got Talent.
"He has apologised both via the police and directly to those involved and the matter will not be taken further."
Former favourite Parke went through to the June final of the show but lost out to Scottish singer Jai McDowall.
