James Corden and Julia Carey

James Corden, 32, has become a first time father after his fiancée Julia Carey had a boy.

The comedian's partner gave birth yesterday (22 March), the day after his performance at the Teenage Cancer Trust concert at London's Royal Albert Hall.

The pair got together in 2009 with the Gavin & Stacey star popping the question on Christmas Day last year.

James Corden's publicist says the couple are "both over the moon" but have called him Max.

Julia Carey, a former TV producer, had the couple's baby at London's private Portland Hospital.

They announced they were expecting a child in September.

The couple were introduced by Mamma Mia! actor Dominic Cooper.
