Kings of Leon have postponed their upcoming tour dates in Australia and South Africa after drummer Nathan Followill needed surgery.

The 31-year-old tore his bicep and, following an operation, can't play live for the next three months.

Speaking on Twitter last Friday (28 January) he said: "Sorry to all the fans in Australia and South Africa.

"My bum wing needs more time to heal but we'll be back later this year. Sorry again."

The March tour dates in Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth, Cape Town and Johannesburg will now be rescheduled for later in the year.

A Kings of Leon gig which was cancelled in December due to a fire at London's O2 Arena has been rescheduled for June 2011.

The band are also due to headline this summer's Isle of Wight festival and they play Hyde Park in London on 22 and 23 June plus a Manchester show at Lancashire County Cricket ground on 19 June.
