Christina Aguilera out for Burlesque UK premiere

US singer Christina Aguilera turned out for the UK premiere of her debut film, Burlesque, in London's Leicester Square.
After her duet with Rebecca Ferguson on The X Factor, Christina Aguilera stepped out on the red carpet for the UK premiere of her new film, Burlesque. The singer wore a little black dress for her moment in the spotlight.
Christina Aguilera, 29, takes the lead part playing an aspiring singer called Ali in her first major film role. 64-year-old Cher returns to the screen after a seven-year break to take on the role of Burlesque nightclub owner Tess.
Twilight actor Cam Gigandet, 28, plays barman and musician Jack, who helps Christina Aguilera's character Ali. He gets her a job as a cocktail waitress, which leads to a chance of displaying her vocal talent in the club.
Former Heroes actress Kristen Bell, 30, plays Nikki. She's a performer at the club but is jealous of Ali. She said it was great to work with Christina Aguilera: "The reason she's so successful is that she's so fearless."
British stars like Starry Eyed singer Ellie Goulding and Radio 1 DJ Greg James also turned out to see the film. It takes place in a Sunset Boulevard theatre in LA called the Burlesque Lounge which is going through hard times.
Glamour girls Abi Titmuss, Imogen Thomas, Bianca Gascoigne and Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace also turned up for the premiere. Burlesque follows Ali (Christina Aguilera) as she tries to take over as resident diva from owner Tess (Cher).
As the Burlesque Lounge teeters on the brink of bankruptcy, Tess' frantic ex-husband (Peter Gallagher) pleads with her to sell to a developer (Eric Dane). I'm a Celebrity star Kayla Collins also turned out in the cold to see the film.
Burlesque dancers lined the pink carpet along with fans at the Empire Cinema in London's Leicester Square. The film was directed by former Pussycat Doll music video producer Steven Antin and is out in UK cinemas on 17 December.
