System Of A Down's lead singer Serj Tankian
Metal band System Of A Down have ended a five year "hiatus" and been confirmed as headliners of Download festival 2011.
The Armenian-American band will top the bill at the Castle Donington event on 10-12 June.
In a statement the group said they had "no master plan" but were "playing these shows simply because we want to play together again".
Tickets go on sale on Friday 3 December.
System Of A Down - Serj Tankian, Daron Malakian, Shavo Odadjian and John Dolmayan - have released five studio albums to date.
Their most famous tracks included Toxicity, Chop Suey! and Sugar.
Last year's Download Festival was headlined by AC/DC, Rage Against The Machine and Aerosmith.
