Justin Bieber scoops four American music awards

Justin Bieber is the big winner at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles which also featured Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Usher and Katy Perry.
Justin Bieber was the big winner at this year's American Music Awards in Los Angeles. He picked up the biggest prize of the evening artist of the year.
The 16-year-old Canadian also took home favourite pop/rock album, favourite pop/rock male and show's breakthrough artist. "I can't stop smiling," he said after be beat off competition from Eminem and Usher. "This is amazing."
Taylor Swift, modelling a smart new hair style, was also a winner on the night (Country female artist). She also performed during the ceremony.
Ke$ha was amongst the artists who performed on stage during the ceremony. She smashed up a guitar as she ran through a medley of tracks.
Devon rockers Muse kept the British end up by bagging the alternative rock music favourite artist award.
Black Eyed Peas scooped the pop/rock music favourite band, duo or group prize after posing on the red carpet for the cameras. They also played new single The Time live.
Katy Perry took to the stage midway through the awards to play Firework, surrounded by pyrotechnics.
After a brief break from music to start a family Christina Aguilera returned to the stage to perform Express.
Rihanna provided an explosive opening to the evening by playing a number of tracks from her new album LOUD.
