Adam Kessler (second from left) has left the Brooklyn band
The Drums have parted ways with their guitarist Adam Kessler.
In a statement on Brooklyn-based band's website the remaining members say they're "devastated" by his departure and that they're "keeping to themselves and with friends at this time."
The band are currently midway through a north American tour which will continue.
One of 2010's most keenly tipped acts, The Drums released their self-titled debut album in June where it charted in the UK top 20.
In January the foursome secured fifth place in the BBC's Sound Of 2010 poll voted for by industry tastemakers.
