See pictures of bands like Muse, Gorillaz and Florence and the Machine as they perform at the Coachella music festival in California.
Matt Bellamy from Muse rocks out at the Coachella music festival in California. The band headlined the second day of the festival alongside Dutch DJ Tiesto.
Florence and the Machine also played on the Sunday. However some UK bands like The Cribs couldn't make it to the US as their flight was cancelled because of the ash cloud.
Beth Ditto blasts out a note as the Gossip take to the stage. The festival takes place in the scorching desert sun over three days. Jay-Z headlined the first day of this year's bash and was also joined on stage by Beyonce
Gorillaz brought the festival to a close on Sunday with tunes from their new album, Plastic Beach. Luckily the band were one of those already in the US and so weren't affected by flight cancellations.
Thom Yorke was another of the Brit acts who appeared - the Radiohead singer played a solo gig on the Sunday.
Singer-songwriter Corinne Bailey Rae was also there playing songs from her latest album, The Sea. Coachella takes place on the grounds of a polo club and also saw performances from Dave Grohl's Them Crooked Vultures, MGMT and Vampire Weekend.

Pink was one of the many celebrities at the event. Also spotted enjoying the music were the likes of Katy Perry, Kelly Osbourne and Doctor Who's Matt Smith with British model Daisy Lowe.
