Obama: US forces have 'broken a siege' in north Iraq

US President Obama has said that US air strikes have broken the siege of a mountain in northern Iraq where thousands of members of the Yazidi religious sect had taken refuge from the threat of jihadists.

However, Mr Obama said the US would continue carrying out air strikes against Islamic State (IS) militants.
