Atlanta Archbishop Wilton Gregory to leave $2.2m mansion

6 April 2014 Last updated at 08:41 BST

An American archbishop is to move out of his $2.2m (£1.3m) mansion just three months after moving in.

Wilton Gregory, the Archbishop of Atlanta in Georgia, paid for the construction of the building with a combination of a donation to the diocese and the proceeds of selling his previous house to the church.

He insists he followed the wishes of the donor but some parishioners have criticised the extravagance of the property.

Wendy Urquhart reports.
