President Obama's State of the Union: 'Close Guantanamo Bay in 2014'

President Obama has called on Congress to act to close Guantanamo Bay in 2014 during his annual State of the Union address.

Mr Obama urged members to lift the remaining restrictions on detainee transfers.

The president also promised a more "targeted approach" to combating terrorism and reform of the country's controversial surveillance programmes.
