Indianapolis bans driving as US freeze continues

North America's brutal cold snap is heading south and east, ushering in dangerously low temperatures.

About half of the US population has been placed under a wind chill warning or advisory, with residents being told their skin could freeze if they go outside.

In Chicago, temperatures have fallen to historic lows of -11F (-24C),
