US officials issue 'deadly' cold weather warnings

Officials in the US have been urging people to stay indoors as temperatures in parts of North America plummet.

The authorities in Indianapolis, Chicago and St Louis warned people to stay at home.

Parts of the US are braced for potentially record-breaking low temperatures as a "polar vortex" brings freezing weather.
