Edward Snowden to deliver Channel 4's Christmas message

Edward Snowden, who leaked details of some of the US's most secret surveillance programmes, will speak on television for the first time since early July.

He will deliver his thoughts in a broadcast in the UK by Channel 4 as their Alternative Christmas Message, which last year featured an address by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
